oven-baked spicy mussels

This is a leftover recipe. Based upon an idea that you can tailor. The idea is a Dutch street food dish with the name “Patatje Gehakt”. That is about French fries and spicy mince (minced meat). That you bake in a steaming hot oven

ingredients

  1. leftover cooked mussels
  2. 100 gr. of French fries (to oven bake)
  3. leftover paprika peppers, cayenne peppers, jalapeño peppers, zucchini, courgette
  4. 1/2 cup of oil
  5. salt & pepper

TOOLS

  • a Knife
  • a spoon or Spatula
  • a clean Kitch Towel
  • an oven dish
  • an oven

steps (PREP. & ACTUAL COOKING)

  1. Turn on oven (highest temp.)
  2. Wash & towel dry leftover vegetables that do great with mussels and French fries (check suggestions in list ingredients)
  3. Cut all vegetables in small chunks
  4. Pour oil into oven dish
  5. Add leftover mussels (without shells) in oven dish
  6. Add chunks of vegetables to oven dish
  7. In case you have an opened bag of French fries in your fridge, take 2 hands of fries and add to oven dish
  8. Stir the lot with a spoon or spatula
  9. Optional: add salt & pepper
  10. Slide oven dish into the middle of the oven
  11. Bake this leftover dish in 20 min.
