In 2016 and 2017 emilies had a stall at the indoor Hampstead Saturday Market. Most noteworthy, the market is located in a former coach house. Later on, the building turned into a garage. In 1977 it became Hampstead’s Community Centre. Thanks to the dedication of Nancy Hill, Peter Ratzer and Diane Brooks, the former coach house got a public function. Furthermore, Emma and Dan, Diane’s children, have taken over the daily care of the centre.
Originally the Saturday market was a food market with organic products. Nowadays the stalls with French cheese, Spanish delicacies, (vintage) books and cards drive the market. Hence emilies’ idea to join the market with a collection of French baskets. She has met some wonderful people at this small market. Thanks to Instagram , Emilie is still in touch with market traders. They open the Saturday Market at 10am. And close their stalls from 17pm onwards. You can find Hampstead Saturday Market in the Hampstead Community Centre at 78-80 Hampstead High Street, London.
Pop-up dining events
The ladies behind Montadito, a stall with Spain’s finest cheeses, are organising pop-up diners every quarterly. Together with Chef Marco Muselli, they create wonderful events with superb food, lovely wines and live music. Last October Eva, Victoria and Marco hosted such an event at the Hampstead Community Centre. It was quite an experience to dine in the old coach house. Hopefully the ladies & the chef will organise a pop-up dinner this spring.
