- 1 cup of long grain rice (Jasmin, Pandan)
- 2 cups of water

- Sieve
- Lid or plate
- Timer
steps (PREP. & ACTUAL COOKING)
- Do not wash rice
- Add water to pan
- Turn on heat, or move pan close to the center of the heat
- As soon as water is boiling, add rice
- Close pan with lid
- Wait until you hear water boiling again
- Carefully give cooking water & rice a stir
- Lower the heat or remove pan from the center of the heat
- Close pan with lid again
- Time your phone for 7 minutes
- Let water & rice simmer for the named period
- Pick a few rice grains
- Check their bite
- When their texture is firm but cooked
- In case, you can not chew the picked rice grains, let the rice grains cook for another 2 minutes
- Pour water and rice into colander or sieve
- Wash rice in sieve or colander
- Until water is clear
- Let rice rest in sieve on top of pan
- With lid on
